| Surcharge
on foreign products and Institutions
Additional 60% is to be paid on
usual rates on spot advertisements and sponsorship of all products
which is not produced Or assembled in Bangladesh . This additional
rate is also effective for highlighting any advertisement of local
product as a foreign product directly or indirectly . The additional
charge is also effective on foreign organizations . But it is not
admissible in case of the organizations who are engaged in voluntary
services in Bangladesh . This surcharge is not effective for
sponsorship of international Programmes through satellite .
Value Added Tax (VAT) on
advertisement
15% Value added tax (VAT) shall be
charged on the gross value of the advertisement or at the rate to be
determined by the government from time to time .
- Terms and condition
- Booking orders
Booking orders for making of
contracts must reach sales office six days prior to the date of
transmission . Booking orders must specify the client's name,
product , duration, frequency of spots, commercial material etc .
Theapproved scripts and censored commercial material must be
submitted with the booking order .
Contracts:
- The contracts are subject to the
terms and conditions printed on the back of the prescribed
contract forms .
- While a contract may be in the
name of an Agency Advertiser, it will be valid only for the
product mentioned therein .
- Contracts are accepted on the
condition that the copy and material presented for exhibition
would conform to the Standards and all laws and regulations in
force at the time in Bangladesh Television.
- On the conclusion of a contract,
the advertising time will revert to Bangladesh Television and
the Agency/Advertiser Will not have any claim on it .
Payment
Payment in advance is to be made by
Bank Draft/Pay Order in favor of Bangladesh Television to be drawn
on any Scheduled Bank in Dhaka only . Any spot or sponsored Programme
not transmitted due to non receipt of payment Will not be
compensated and will be charged for.
Delivery and Clearance of
Material
- Commercial material should be
submitted to the Sales Department 6 days before the date when
transmission is due .The material should be in the final form
and fit for transmission in all respects
- All commercial film scripts
prior to filming should be submitted to the Sales Department for
approval . The commercial film along with the approved script
should be submitted for censor in the prescribed censorship
forms, well ahead of booking of spots or sponsorship .
- Bangladesh Television reserves
the right to charge for advertisement for which time was booked
but not utilized because the material was late or faulty .
- The Agency/Advertiser will be
responsible for obtaining clearance of copyright and pay any
royalty involved or any other charges livable on material
supplied for transmission .
- The Agency/ Advertiser will
indemnify Bangladesh Television against all actions, claims and
demands brought or made against Bangladesh Television by reason
of the transmission or any advertising material .
- Bangladesh Television reserves
the right to refuse at any time to transmit an advertisement
material without assigning any reason .
- Bangladesh Television will not
be responsible for damage to or loss of advertising material of
any kind .
Single Product of Service
Except in the case of
advertisements going with sponsored Programme, a commercial spot
should refer to only a single product or service .
Cancellations or suspensions
- Contracts may be cancelled by
advertisers by giving notice in writing not less than eight
weeks prior to the date from which cancellation is desired .
- Bangladesh Television reserves
the right to discontinue, postpone or cancel any Programme without
prior notice .
- Spots contracted for may be
suspended at the advertiser's request provided at least four
weeks notice is given by the advertiser . A contract cannot
remain suspended for more than six weeks . After six weeks, the
contract will stand automatically cancelled .
Changes in rates and conditions
Bangladesh Television reserves the
right to change the rates and conditions without prior notice.
However, Bangladesh Television will allow advertisers 14 days from
the date of the announcement of change inrates and conditions to
cancel or amend their contracts .
Advertisement material
Commercial material should be in
Betacom Cassette .
Agency commission
15% Commission on net airtime rates
is payable to advertising agencies recognized by Bangladesh
Television .
